This section showcases my involvement in shaping and executing some of my most impactful events and campaigns, reflecting my commitment to creative leadership, implementing strategic approaches, and attaining measurable success.

Communication and Media Society

The DLSU-D Communication and Media Society (COMMSOC) is a recognized student organization under the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) of De La Salle University– Dasmariñas. COMMSOC is a university-wide organization that commits itself to hone the creative and technical skills of its members with webinars, training, and workshops related to the Communication and Media field. 

A Day In My Life: Behind the Scene

Overview

DLSU-D Communication and Media Society’s “A Day In My Life: Behind The Screen" is a webinar held on May 21, 2021 via Facebook live. The event delved into the lives of content creators within the context of the new normal.

​

It featured talks from well-established content creator Krissy Achino and rising influencer Rinoa Edwards. The guest speakers shared advice about effectively utilizing social media as a platform for self-expression and communication, while also offered insights on how to leverage it for potential financial gain.

A Day In My Life: Behind the Scene

My Role

As a Social Media Committee Member of the event, I participated in the conceptualization of social media materials, crafting engaging captions, writing script, and copywriting. Additionally, I was in charge of outreach efforts, particularly in contacting and negotiating with potential sponsors. As a significant aspect of my responsibilities, I also had the role of event hosting, ensuring the event's seamless execution while maintaining a dynamic, responsive, and engaging atmosphere as the designated host of the event.

  • Executed an effective social media plan with event teasers, countdowns, engaging filters on Instagram and Facebook tailored to the event’s theme, post event highlights, and prominently displaying partner and sponsor logos across promotional materials.

  • Formed media partnerships with 8 organizations, driving event promotion and engagement.

  • Connected with 4 sponsors, securing both monetary contributions and in-kind sponsorships.

  • Facilitated audience connection through icebreaker games and intermission performances, maintaining an entertaining atmosphere during segment transitions.

  • Incorporated sponsors' gift certificates and vouchers as game prizes, improving participant engagement.

  • Implemented a registration and evaluation process to monitor results, collect feedback, and assess the event's impact.

Engagements

The Facebook live event reached over 2,200 viewers, 182 reactions, 100 shares, and 400 comments.​

Abante, Botante!: Voter’s Guide to Responsible Voting

Overview

“Abante, Botante!: Voter’s Guide to Responsible Voting” is a voter education webinar event held on December 18, 2021 via Zoom Meeting and Facebooklive, and is established to prepare the youth and first-time voters for the upcoming 2022 Philippine national elections. Featured talks of inspirational advocates, journalist, and professionals, the event aimed to enlighten viewers about the factual voting process, online political misinformation and disinformation, and effectively choosing the next leaders of the nation.

 

Focused on Commission on Elections (COMELEC) services, media literacy, and responsible voting, the webinar served as the next step after voter registration, encouraging individuals to make insightful decisions in voting. The outreach event underscores the significance of making the public's votes count and motivates viewers to expand their knowledge on voter education as an integral part of their citizenship responsibilities.

Abante, Botante!: Voter’s Guide to Responsible Voting

My Role

As the Project Head, I spearheaded a cross-departmental team responsible for the entire event production, covering pre-event, during the event, and post-event responsibilities. From conceptualization, preparation of paperwork and requirements, devising and deploying committee assignations, strategizing stakeholder relations specifically on establishing relationships with media partners and brand sponsors, towards its successful execution. I initiated the crafting of the event, meticulously overseeing details from event planning, strategizing, scheduling, organizing, and overall managing.

 

Serving concurrently as the organization's Senior Director for Public Relations and the event's Social Media Head, I assumed the responsibility of directly leading the Social Media Committee and initiating the conceptualization of content strategies to ensure effective promotion and visibility.

Target Audience

First-time voters and students seeking a solid foundation and guidance towards being informed voters.

Success Indicator

  • The over-all evaluation from the participants shall score at least 4 out of 5;

  • At least 80% of the target number of participants shall be reached;

  • The flow of the program shall be thoroughly observed;

  • At least 30% increase on previous social media engagement

Abante, Botante!: Voter’s Guide to Responsible Voting

Results

  • The over-all average evaluation received a score of 4.7 out of 5 success rate.

  • The number of participants who attended the event was over 100, achieving the 80% target number of participants.

  • The flow of the program was thoroughly observed, monitored, and documented for the after activity report.

  • Exactly 100% increase in total page action, 74% increase on post engagements, and 53% increase in people reached in social media engagement.

Engagements

The Facebook live event reached over 1,700 viewers, 216 reactions, 140 shares, and 351 comments.​

95.9 Green FM is the official community radio of De La Salle University - Dasmariñas (DLSU-D). Throughout its 18 years of operation, Green FM has been focused on empowering the Lasallian community through providing them socially relevant programs encompassing matters both inside the university and the society at large.

In Retrospect:
The Lessons of 2021

Overview

The Green FM News and Public Affairs Department, under Green FM and the De La Salle University - Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) Communication and Journalism Department

(CJD), with its primary mission of informing and empowering the Lasallian community through

providing news-oriented programs, invited experts on the topics that shaped 2021 and host a roundtable discussion on the said subject.

 

With deep reverence to journalistic values and skills, the discussion aims to understand 2021 and its implications on the near future. In Retrospect is an open roundtable discussion among experts that seeks to understand the events that shaped 2021 and the lessons that the Filipinos can learn from them. The event was held on December 4, 2021 via Zoom meeting and Facebook live.

The Lessons of 2021

My Role

As the only External Manager in the team, I was the only one in charge of securing media partnerships and coordinating with prospective guest panelists. 

 

I was able to secure 11 media partners which were the DLSU-D Broadcast Journalism and Program Council, DLSU-D Communication and Media Society, DLSU-D Communication Program Council, Now You Know PH, DLSU-D University Student Government, YACAP PH, Archers Network, Buhay MassComm, DLSU-D Political Science Program Council, DLSU-D People Management Society, and DLSU-D Lasallian First Aiders - Red Cross Youth. The media partners were able to help in promoting the publicity materials of the event and establishing cross-posting relationships for the live event.

 

The 4 guest panelists that I was able to connect with were We The Future PH Co-convenor Madelene de Borja, UP Diliman Department of Journalism Associate Professor Danilo Arao, Filipino Nurses United Secretary General Jocelyn Andamo, and DLSU-D Social Sciences Department Faculty Member Dr. Edwin Lineses. They were able to effectively represent the four main categories of the discussion which involve education, public health, politics and governance, and society at large.

Conversations with Candidates and Halalan 2022 Coverage

Overview

The 95.9 Green FM, in collaboration with Broadcast Journalism Program Council (BJPC) under the De La Salle University-Dasmarinas (DLSU-D) Communication and Journalism Department (CJD), is dedicated to its core mission of empowering youth through robust student journalism. As part of this commitment, the BJPC undertook an initiative to engage with and interview candidates who ran for various positions in both local and national elections in 2022.

 

The collaborative efforts of the team in online election coverage had a two parts: first, through conducting insightful interviews with candidates in the lead-up to the elections, aiming to enhance public political literacy by shedding light on the aspirations and initiatives of the candidates. Second, on election day itself, through providing live news updates to keep the public informed.

 

One of the programs of this initiative was "Conversations with Candidates," an online interview show designed to delve into the motivations and intricacies of political candidates vying for government positions in the May 2022 National Elections. The show had a total of 8 episodes published from February to March 2022. Additionally, "Halalan 2022 Coverage" was a comprehensive four-hour live broadcast dedicated to covering the 2022 national elections in real-time, diligently reporting on results and inviting local candidates to share their perspectives on the tallying of results on Election Day, May 9, 2022. Both events were held via Facebook live.

Conversations with Candidates and Halalan 2022 Coverage

My Role

In my role, I was an External Affairs manager. I was able to secure 4 out of the 10 guest interviewees for the Conversations with Candidates namely Senatorial Candidate Samira Gutoc, Senatorial Candidate Ted Baguilat, Senatorial Candidate Alex Lacson, and Presidential Candidate Leody De Guzman. I was also in charge of securing media partners to establish crossposting relationship aiming to maximize visibility. I was able to connect with 6 organizations namely Buhay MassComm, DLSU-D College of Liberal Arts and Communication Student Government, DLSU-D Communication Program Council, DLSU-D University Student Government, Now We Know PH, and DLSU-D Political Science Program Council.

 

On the other hand, I was able to coordinate with 10 guest interviewees for Halalan 2022 coverage namely Dasmariñas Cavite Councilor Candidate Jeremiah Denolo, University of the Philippines Former Director for Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea Jay Batongbacal, Cavite Governor Candidate Jonvic Remulla, De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute Vice Dean Jomel Vasquez, and Former De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Director for Environment and Resources Management Center Marlon Pareja, Teach for the Philippines Data and Impact Assessment Manager Edcel Artificio, National Historical Commission of the Philippines Commissioner Emmanuel Calairo, Political Analyst Dennis Coronacion, and Senatorial Candidate Elmer Labog.

Results & Engagements

All 8 episode of Conversations with Candidates had an average of 4,675 viewers, and Halalan 2022 Live Coverage had over 9,500 views.
